Author's POV

Her sleep was disturbed by the sudden ring of her phone, even though it was left in the hall. The sound sliced through the silence of the night, and with her being a light sleeper, that faint noise from nowhere was enough to wake her. She shifted slightly, and the movement nudged him out of his sleep too. He groaned and turned to the other side, releasing her from his stronghold. he knew if he didn’t, she’d force her way out and drag him into full wakefulness, something he had zero interest in.
