The apartment lay shrouded in darkness, its door unlocked. As Aadhavan arrived, his heartbeat quickened with a nameless fear. He entered the apartment and flicked on the lights but found the hall deserted. Drawn by a faint mumbling from a room, he advanced and, upon entering the darkened space, he swallowed hard and turned on the light.
